NDP tickets- Past or Present
Ahhhhh. the National day parade is just around the corner. What better way to celebrate it by posting something relate to NDP. Let me see, Hmm. Tickets. Without the Tickets we cannot enter the PARADE, M i Right?? *like duh*
So what im debating today is the getting of the tickets, The Past or The Present. Let me draw the picture for U..
THE PAST
Better known as the term "rush tickets" for some, this method is the classical way for Singaporean to get their NDP. Before the day where tickets are given out, Singaporeans get "underground" info to where the Tix are to be given out. How the info gets out, only god knows. So anyway, the places are usualy Sports Complex, Stadiums and Army Camps. By Midnight you would see a large line of Singaporean, camping outside this buildings. This is a beautiful sight as u can see people talking to each other, enjoy themselves, sharing food, exchanges stories and such. It cultivates the people to interact and thus encourage a racial harmony feeling.
THE PRESENT
E-balloting, People just go online, or call or go to the AXN machine or what not to apply. and Regardless of race language or religion, you'll get 1 in 4 mil ++chance of getting the tix. How Nice?
PERSONAL FEEL
Personally i would say that i prefer the old method, more than e balloting. Every time National day draws near, I would hear people talking about rushing tickets. When you c people queuing for the tix, you would see the patriotism in each and every one of them. The fun that these people feel just rushing the tix. Even they didnt get the tix, they would still be happy as they are part of the National Day Spirit. One more thig too add, Since the e-balloting rule apply, when comes national day, most of the time u can see in the Tv are Chinese people. There use to be an Even mixed of chinese, malay and indian people shown. This is due to the fact that there are more chinese people in singapore than malay, india or others. So the percentage of seeing chinese people during the NDP in the Tv are higher than OTHERS. Would the tv be dull if u c most of the people watching the parade be chinese?? HAHAHAHA. Im not trying to be racist or anti-gov or anti-anithing, but i miss the "rushing of Tix" days and i believe that to get the Pre- National Day feeling up and running, we need to bring back those "Rushing of Tickets".
VERDICT
U Decide, go create a petition or someting, n if i do. I'll be the first one to sign.
